What Is ICF?
Building Value With Insulated Concrete Forms
simplicity builds value
Simply put, insulated concrete forms (ICFs) are like hollow lego blocks that are stacked, steel-reinforced and filled with concrete to form a highly impact-resistant, extremely safe & resoundingly energy efficient building envelope in just one step. ICFs can be used in any commercial or residential application, and represent a significant long-term value when compared with traditional building methods.
Our NUDURA Forms are available in a variety of configurations & sizes to accommodate any building design. They are comprised of two panels of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam connected by a patented webbing system made of 100% recycled material. The EPS foam is non-toxic, 100% recyclable, shock-resistant, fire-retardant (4+ hours), & built to withstand winds of up to 250mph. When stacked & filled with rebar and concrete, the result yields walls that are >800 times stronger than wood & have monolithic thermal mass. This high thermal mass in an airtight building envelope lets our structures absorb & store heat energy. Thus, indoor temperatures are more stable, self-regulating & cost significantly less to heat & cool.

ICF IN ALASKA
CHOOSE A BUILDER ON THE LEADING EDGE
Alaska tends to be decades behind the building curve in terms of technology. But, with our company's strength in innovation, coupled with our foresight to see ICF's distinct advantages for the Alaskan market, we readily embraced ICF in our building arsenal early on. Taking our construction technology cues from ICF's indisputable track record throughout North America, we know ICF is the only solution to our region's toughest construction challenges.
We continue to pave the way in changing the way Alaska builds.
florida's sand palace: nudura icf home survives hurricane michael unscathed
On October 10, 2018, Mexico Beach was flattened by Hurricane Michael. Amongst the devastating destruction, one home stood upright on stilts above all the apocalyptic destruction, appearing largely unscathed and shining majestically in the sun. The "Sand Palace" would garner the attention of countless national and local media outlets fascinated by its story of incredible resilience in the face of such a powerfully destructive force.
icf called upon to repair & renovate after alaska's 2018 7.2 earthquake
After our local area suffered a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in late November, 2018, we were called upon to repair & renovate traditionally-constructed homes that experienced significant seismic damage. We are proud to assert that zero of the ICF buildings by Remote Alaska Solutions suffered any damage in the wake of this earthquake.
